Virginia State Defense Force citizen soldiers are special people with special skills. Called to duty in times of disasters when the lives and property of fellow citizens are threatened, the full range of their professional skills are put to the test in answering the call of their neighbors in time of need.

Currently in the Virginia State Defense Force, there is a need for doctors, lawyers, nurses, journalists, finance officers, pilots (aircraft owners), information technology specialists, and many other professions.
